The Africa Center for Governance Studies (ACGS) is an innovative, youth-led civil society organisation committed to transforming governance across Africa through ethical leadership and data-driven advocacy. Our mission is actualised through five specialised centres: Center for Leadership Development (C4LD), Center for Advocacy and Policy Influencing (C4API), Center for Research and Development (C4R&D), Center for Community Mobilisation and Engagement (C4CM&E), and Center for Innovation and Technology (C4IT). We employ a DEEP approach, Diagnose, Engage, Equip and Push, to identify governance gaps and train young leaders and women, empowering them to influence critical policy changes. One of our notable contributions is the "Governance Gaps Index," which monitors legislative actions and highlights areas needing improvement, ensuring that we hold leaders accountable and encourage transparency.

At ACGS, we are dedicated to fostering inclusive decision-making by building digital democracy platforms that amplify the voices of marginalised groups. By addressing the disconnect between Africa’s demographic potential and outdated governance structures, we aim to harness the youth bulge as a catalyst for sustainable growth and development across the continent. Through our initiatives, we aspire to create a more equitable governance landscape, fostering progress and empowering communities to actively participate in shaping their futures.
